Key topics of today and the future – 11th CFK Valley Stade Convention

Almost 300 guests from all over the world joined this years expert forum on CFRP, 16 – 17 May 2017 in Stade, Germany.

The CFRP sector is a continues growing marketplace with exciting developments and projects. The CFK-Valley Stade Convention as one of the most innovative expert conferences and showcases on the topic of composite lightweight constructions, provided an overview of the latest activities and researches on CFRP. Partner Country 2017 was Austria.

The 1,5 day conference with main topic „CFRP Market Trends & Innovations - for OEMs & Suppliers“ has been opened by Ms Silvia Nieber, Mayoress of the City of Stade and Dr. Heinz Walter, Commercial Counsellor at the Austrian Embassy in Berlin.

KeyNote Speech by Werner Loscheider

The first lecture of the day „Lightweight construction - activities on the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy / The Competence Atlas for ‘Lightweight Design’ of Werner Loscheider, Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy / Prof. Andreas Büter, Fraunhofer Institute for Structural Durability and System Reliability LBF gave an introduction to the topic and emphasised the importance of international networking.

Award Winner 2017: Franhofer IFAM & Partners

Beside the lectures – from industry and research – and the accompanying exhibition, also the evening event on the first conference day had a highlight to present: The bestowal of the “CFK-Valley Innovation Award”.

The award honors developments with a particularly high degree of innovation in CFRP lightweight construction and is donated by CFK Valley e.V. and the Hanseatic City of Stade with 7,500 EUR. Winner of this years award is Fraunhofer Institute for Manufacturing Technology and Advanced Materials IFAM (Stade) and its local partners for the project “FlexMont”. Prior aim of the project is the significant reduction of installation times and costs for the CFRP boxes of the Airbus A 320 fin.
